Dinner in the burbs: Hanni’s Restaurant

Pizza leftovers

I’m a Groupon victim: can’t resist the temptation of trying new places and doing it for half price! Armed with a 15$ for 30$ voucher, I made a reservation for Hanni’s on a nice weekday evening. I was a bit surprised to find a small restaurant hidden in a strip mall in SW (4655 37th Street SW). Hanni’s had good reviews online, praising both the food and the cosy atmosphere.

I am not a big fan of pasta for a variety of reasons, but I ran out of ideas for a quick dinner and grabbed a pack of Ziggy’s spinach and cheese ravioli from Superstore (around 230 calories per serving). The outcome? Ravioli with veggies!

Honey mustard ribs

Roasting honey mustard ribs.

I’m running out of time for cooking, so these days I’m looking for easy to prepare dishes. I find the countertop oven very useful: I can just throw in meat or veggies, set it on broil and tah-dah, tasty food is begging to be eaten! Tonight, I’m making mustard and honey pork ribs. It took me 10 minutes to put everything together. I’m paring the meat with steamed potatoes and carrots, mixed with butter and thyme.
